STARES Pager Alert System

The pager system will be tested each week, immediately prior to the weekly net or monthly meeting, using the 111 or 222 prefix. At other times, a test of 000 may be used for engineering or performance testing of the system, 000 pages should be ignored.

The pager allows us to transmit up to 14 numeric digits. Information will be pre-fixed with 3 digits to indicate the purpose of the message in accordance with the list below.

111 -prefix activated approx. 1 hour before Meeting
222 -prefix activated approx 15 minutes before Net
333 -prefix used for urgent messages only-call ASAP- use when on air communication would not be appropriate.
444 -prefix use for urgent email traffic only.
555 -prefix previous alert or activation has been cancelled.
666 -prefix used for activation of the regional HF EMCOMM Net.
777 -prefix used for training simulation purposed in place of 888 or 911
888 -prefix Stand by Alert go to given frequency ASAP and report in with NCS.
911 -prefix Callout Alert go to given frequency and report in with NCS. If you are first on frequency and hear no NCS, take Net Control, take check-ins from membership until relieved of NCS duty.
